Booking Ehud Ettun for your festival or series
Ehud Ettun is an Israeli-born, Boston-based double bassist and composer whose contemporary jazz blends the jazz tradition with classical music and traditional Jewish and Israeli melodies. He leads the Ehud Ettun Trio, co-leads the piano–bass duo The Yabuno Ettun Project with Japanese pianist Haruka Yabuno, and has performed at the Blue Note (New York) and the Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.). To book, email ehudettun@gmail.com.
The sound
A melodic, vocal approach to the upright bass, rooted in Giovanni Bottesini, Charles Mingus, Charlie Haden and Ray Brown, with influences from Chick Corea, Carla Bley and Brad Mehldau. Programs mix original compositions with arrangements of jazz standards and traditional songs from around the world — such as ‘Arirang’ and ‘Alfonsina y el Mar’ — and from Israel. The Boston Globe wrote that “Ettun can conjure the deep soulfulness of Charlie Haden.”
